Yana Brenar Please tell us something about yourself.
I am a professional interior designer and takes great interest in following the latest but purposeful home improvement trends. I endorse using the right lighting system with an exceptional design to live an exotic lifestyle. I also run an online store, UNIQLight, where I make available lighting systems with innovative designs.
Yana, would you like to throw some light on your background?
Yes, of course. I was born in Moscow during the time when Russia was a part of the USSR. At that time, people didn’t really care about designs. At 18, I shifted to Canada where I got the opportunity to explore the real shapes of the design and I was fascinated with lofts & industrial ideas. Later, I graduated from the Interior Design Insitute during my pregnancy and I learned about the complex designs of lighting.
What made you dive into the field of interior designing?
I happened to realize that people’s happiness depends a lot on comfortable and effective planning. It made me implement solutions on this subject everywhere including my husband’s store and our townhouse.
How do you think the global pandemic has changed the home improvement industry?
During the pandemic period, limited social life has made people remain inside their homes. Kids’ online education and the ‘work from home’ regime of people have made it imperative for them to turn to home improvement.
Which area of home improvement is preferred by people during the pandemic period?
People are paying lots of attention to improve the lighting system of their house. They just focus on lighting to create a strong ambiance and focused work environment for working from home. Now, people show more love for the Scandinavian style with its minimalism and track lighting systems as it can be changed in different light positions.
