Wendell did not have a comfortable life. Born in the Philippines but later moving to New Jersey, Wendell and his family were always on the move. Yet, the struggles for Wendell and his family were beginning. There was still the struggle for food, fitting in, and a feeling of belonging that was never really present. Yet, all of those other struggles were nothing compared to what happened to Wendell about five years ago.
His mother’s Death was a big setback for him:
His mother, his idol, and his mentor passed away from cancer. This rocked Wendell and everything that he stood for to the core.
After his mother’s Death, Wendell fell into a dark place. He was actually diagnosed with depression during that time and lost his job, family, and friends. Yet, Wendell realized that this should not be his mother’s legacy- someone who had nothing and was a shadow of his former self. So, despite all odds, he pulled himself out of the betrayal and depression and started Hope Nuggets (@hopenuggets).
