Addressing the needs of people now is a balance between economy and health. As we continue to fight the ongoing war with the invisible enemy – COVID-19, visionaries such as Ravi Ganatra emerge to march on with resilience and persistence to keep enterprises growing, ensuring health and safety for employees and having the resources to supply front liners with much needed sanitary and protection gear.
Ravi Ganatra is a Mumbai-based entrepreneur, who started his career in the manufacturing industry with amusement rides in 2012 and later saw potential within the steel trade and formed Stalwart International Private Limited. His latest venture is about to merge with a reputable manufacturing company who has been producing chemical and pharmaceutical equipment for over 40 years. This is an appropriate move, as we begin to see the importance of health and much needed pharma equipment to aid healthcare workers.
While industrialists are wary of the effects of the economic slowdown due to the pandemic, cutting down their work force to stay afloat; Ravi Ganatra is leading his company with a smile. He remains true to the company’s vision; recruiting employees, finding leverage to cushion the impact of the economic slowdown, and remaining strong with the goals of the company towards the future.
How do you make sure your staff’s payment isn’t affected during these tough times?
We continue to operate partially as per permissible guidelines and encourage working from home. This keeps us afloat while going through these trying times.
How have you been planning your financial strategies during the pandemic?
The strategy for the pandemic is clearly to be conservative with expenses and investments while ensuring no salary pay-cuts or layoffs. We strongly believe that the country will emerge well in no time and that the economic slowdown is only temporary.
Ravi’s engineering degree and postgraduate degree in Management has armed him with discipline and an outlook that existing industries in India will keep the country growing. He is a firm believer of the Make-in-India campaign, believing in the workforce’s strong, varying skill sets and dedication to work as the country’s strong points. “It is of utmost importance to align the vision of every employee with the vision of the company, if you want to reach a set of goals within a preset timeframe.”
Although Ravi is a businessman through and through, his heart is in philanthropic work, which can be seen through the charitable work he does on various fronts. He sees his acts of kindness to others as a totally fulfilling service, which furthers his purpose as man who loves his country.
How are you helping COVID-19 frontline workers?
COVID-19 frontline workers play a major role in preventing its spread. At an individual level, we have engaged in the distribution of sanitation and protective equipment to these amazing professionals. Healthcare workers, police officers, municipal workers, and many others; standing in the line of duty, those working on the COVID-19 frontline have risked not only their lives, but their family members.
Ravi Ganatra’s plate is seemingly full already with his business ventures and charitable work. But outside of these activities is a family man, who is a little proficient in Spanish and addicted to a healthy lifestyle and Latin art forms. He may fancy a drink or two on occasions.
