Queens Rapper Landleezy Details His Love for Music and New Project “Believe in the Lord”

Challenging doesn’t even begin to describe the year of 2020 for Queens rapper Landleezy. While the whole world faced repercussions from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, not many went through more than Landleezy. 2020 was a year in which the rising rapper had to confront the losses of his mother, father, and grandmother. Battling grief while motivating himself to keep moving forward, Landleezy is learning from the past year and pouring his newfound knowledge into his music.

Hailing from the Shadyville neighborhood of the New York borough of Queens, life never has been easy for Landleezy. “Growing up in Shadyville wasn’t as calm as it seemed, I wouldn’t say I grew up poor but to survive in the streets of NY, you had to find your own lane, and I did so by being outside,” he shares. The Shadyville artist found a voice for himself in rap the first time he heard Mobb Deep’s “Survival of the Fittest.”

“That beat hit me different, and from that moment, I fell in love with music and felt that it was something I wanted to pursue,” Landleezy recalls. Giving him the motivation to do his own thing, Landleezy took to the studio and hasn’t looked back.

In recent months, Landleezy’s career has launched to new heights. Releasing singles with the likes of Juelz Santana and Jim Jones, Landleezy is now prepping the release of his newest project, “Believe in the Lord.” A project motivated by the personal changes Landleezy had to face in 2020, “Believe in the Lord” is a project meant to introduce people to the Queens rapper’s mission and passion. “I want people to believe in me, feel comfortable with me, and hopefully become fans as they spread the word of my talent.”
