Op. Dr. Yunus Doğan: There is a solution for leg prolapse

Too much weight loss, immobility, childbearing, and ageing may cause lipoidosis and prolapse. Unfortunately, this situation makes walking difficult while it makes the individual sad as well. Esthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Op. Dr. Yunus Doğan: “Resolving this problem is accomplishable thanks to thigh lift surgery.”

Esthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Op. Dr. Yunus Doğan explains why people choose thigh lift surgery and how the operation is conducted: “Excessive loss in weight, pregnancy, immobility, and ageing may cause deformity in body shape. One of the areas in which lipoidosis is seen is “inside leg”. For deformities that are seen both in adipose and skin tissue, thigh lift surgery is the solution and oftenly this operation is combined with liposuction. By this means, we aim thin, smooth, and tight leg appearance. The size of the cutting during the operation varies according to the rate of deformity. All through inguinal region, it is possible to apply a horizontal cut reaching out from the front to the back, or we may apply a vertical cut proper for inseam line.

THE PATIENT SHOULD QUIT SMOKING 1 MONTH IN ADVANCE

Op. Dr. Yunus Doğan says that the patient should prepare themselves before the surgery: “The patient should give up smoking at least one month in advance of the surgery. They should inform us about the medicines that they use and chronic diseases, if any. If there are illnesses like varicose vein, they must be detected as well.

THE SURGERY IS OPERATED UNDER GENERAL ANAESTHESİA

Before the surgery, by means of liposuction, the cutting area is slenderized as it is planned (horizontal or both vertical and horizontal at the same time). Afterwards, the remaining skin tissue is removed. When the operation is conducted, drains are placed for each of the thighs. Then the wound is dressed, and the patient is corseted.

THE PATIENT SHOULD USE A CORSET FOR 6 WEEKS

Op. Dr. Yunus Doğan underlines that using a corset for six weeks is critical: “According to the importance of the operation, the patient should stay in hospital for one or two days. The drains that are placed into the thighs are removed after three or four days, under local anaesthesia. The patient must use a corset for six weeks. After the surgery, there may be seen lymph drainage issues and bulges related to it. To prevent these problems, the patient might need physical therapy support.
