The Idea Of A Mortgage Firm
Dan always had a penchant for numbers and chose a career in finance. In the initial years of his career, he worked as a Savings and Loan officer in the Bay area of Northern California. This role allowed for growth and fulfillment. However, the collapse of the Savings and Loan industry in the 80s made him ponder over the idea of the mortgage business.
As an entrepreneur, he saw immense potential in the mortgage industry and believed that he could build a successful mortgage business from scratch. At that time, the reputation of mortgage brokers was not ideal as they were primarily thought of as Hard Money Lenders.
Dan founded a mortgage firm called ‘Partners Mortgage’ in 1988 and committed himself and his growing team to providing unparalleled customer service and program benefits. The goal was to help his clients see mortgages as both beneficial and accessible. He modeled the firm after upscale Savings & Loan platforms. He also guaranteed the firm evolved with time by staying up to date with all new industry technology. Dan’s pertistance in using that technology gave his firm an edge as they pursued a new way of doing business through an automated loan origination system.
The founder ensured that every new hire of the firm added to the company value and stood true to its mission. Dan deployed Todd Duncan’s company, now called the Duncan Group, to help mold his team. The firm earned a name for itself and with it gained incredible clients. Soon ‘Partners Mortgage’ became one of the largest mortgage brokerage firms in the country, largely based on hiring only “A players” with similar values that focused on the mission to provide world-class customer care.
What Drives Him?
The charismatic intellect always had the drive to invent something superior that brings a valuable change in society. He says, “My key force to wanting to become an entrepreneur was to build a better mousetrap. I wanted to be able to use my energy and passion to create my destiny and to build a company that attracted great people who share the vision.”
Dan is a man of integrity, who is highly solution-oriented, and values relationships. He has imbibed these values into his firm as well. He believes that the real reason for the firm’s growth is its value system and zeal to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
