*Fashion Magazine (FM):* Good day, and welcome to our exclusive interview with Lada Salish , one of the most prominent faces in the fashion industry today. Thank you for joining us!
*Model (M):* Thank you for having me. It’s a pleasure to be here.
*FM:* Let’s start at the beginning. How did your journey in the world of modeling begin?
(Lada Salish )-Well, I was 15 when I got started with my modeling career.
My first contract was in Asia, in China. I was really stressed because I could not speak English and for me as a small kid opening a new country it was a new culture and work. But I was so excited and so happy to be a part of this amazing world of modeling!
*FM:* Los Angeles is a hub for fashion and entertainment. How has living and working here shaped your career?
(Lada Salish ) -Living in LA has been incredible for my career. The city’s energy and diverse culture have exposed me to a wide range of opportunities. It’s a place where creativity thrives, and I’ve had the chance to work with some amazing photographers and designers.
*FM:* Speaking of photographers, you’ve collaborated with some of the best in the industry. Can you share a standout experience or lesson learned from these collaborations?
(Lada Salish ) – Absolutely. Working with top photographers has taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. It’s not just about striking a pose; it’s about understanding the vision and bringing it to life together. It’s a true art form.
*FM:* Many admire your versatility in handling various commercial clients. How do you adapt your style and approach to suit different brands and campaigns?
(Lada Salish ) – Adapting to different brands is about understanding their identity and target audience. I research and immerse myself in the brand’s values, which helps me align my style and personality with their vision. Flexibility is key.
*FM:* Inclusivity is a significant topic in the industry. How do you see your role in promoting diversity and representing different forms of beauty?
(Lada Salish ) – It’s the responsibility I take seriously. Diversity is what makes our world beautiful, and I believe in celebrating all forms of beauty. By being authentic and advocating for inclusivity in the industry, I hope to inspire positive change.
*FM:* That’s wonderful. Is there a particular type of modeling assignment that you find most fulfilling?
(Lada Salish ) – I find runway shows incredibly exhilarating. There’s a unique energy on the catwalk, and it’s a moment when you can truly show a designer’s vision. But I also love the creativity that comes with editorial shoots.
*FM:* Social media plays a significant role in a model’s career today. How do you use it to connect with your audience and further your career?
(Lada Salish ) – Social media is a powerful tool for connecting with fans and industry professionals. I use it to share behind-the-scenes glimpses, interact with followers, and network with others in the industry. It’s a great way to stay connected and stay relevant.
*FM:* What advice would you offer to aspiring models looking to make it in Los Angeles or any competitive market?
(Lada Salish ) – Patience and resilience are key. Rejection is part of the game, but don’t let it deter you. Stay true to yourself, work hard and keep improving your performance. Surround yourself with a supportive team and never stop learning.
*FM:* And finally, what does success in the modeling industry mean to you personally?
(Lada Salish ) – For me success means having a fulfilling career where I can express my creativity, make a positive impact and inspire others. It’s about staying grounded and using my platform to bring about positive change in the world.
