From bones to buff with Astrofit Bands

Lockdown was an opportunity to get around to those things we procrastinate with – one of them was starting to workout or upping our fitness game. This was particularly evident in the surge in demand for home fitness equipment with market research company, NPD Group reporting sales in North America rising by 130% in March from a year ago.

Since 2018, Astrofit Gym has been offering clients in Blainville and Montreal their take on fitness where their trainers build relationships based on trust, respect and empathy and craft highly individual fitness journeys for their clients. With gyms closed and normal routines being completely upended during lockdown, Astrofit wanted to ensure their clients kept up with their fitness programmes even in the safety of their homes.

To complement the launch of the Astrofit World App which includes live training sessions with their Personal Trainer, workout and nutrition guides, Astrofit is releasing their very first at-home workout kit. This streamlined equipment set has been tried and tested by Astrofit experts and features high quality booty bands and tube resistance bands. “We had come up with the idea in 2019 but when the pandemic hit, we put all our hours on it. The whole process from prototype to completed product took about six months,” explains Sarah Anton, President of Astrofit.

Booty bands come in three different colors: soothing Astropeach, elegant Astroice and classic Astrogloom and two resistances, heavy and medium. The bands are made of fabric with a concealed adhesive film inside them that keeps the bands in place during a workout. This design feature ensures the bands are user friendly: “Most bands tend to roll down but Astrofit bands stay put and allow you to complete the workout without problem. Without this design feature, even if the band is tight, it can slide down more easily while doing exercises,” says Anton

For easy organization, the tube resistance bands come in a customized Astrofit storage bag and includes five tube bands, two anklets, one set of handles, and a door anchor to help users get a complete full body workout from home.

Those who purchase Astrofit’s at-home kit can get the best out of the equipment when using them in conjunction with the online database of over 50 specially designed workouts. All that is required to access this extensive collection of exercises, which includes frog bridges, tube band kickbacks and rowing, is scanning the QR code that comes with each box and purchase.

Based on this holistically thought out programme, Anton is confident that users can reap the benefits of working out at home comparative to going to the gym: “If users eat well and exercise three to five times a week, they can start seeing results after the second week.” On top of that, users can look forward to trying out new routines in the future as Astrofit continues to add new exercises to the existing database to accompany them on their evolving fitness journey. “There are different intensity levels available for different fitness levels and we’re going to continue adding customized workouts on the app too,” she enthuses.

With Astrofit’s at-home kit, fitness enthusiasts – no matter what their skill level or goals – can train at home without the need for elaborate fitness equipment. Used in conjunction with the exercise database and Astrofit World app, users will be able to embark on their unique fitness journey in line with Astrofit’s highly personalized ethos: “We wanted to bring the Astrofit difference to people at home during a time of uncertainty. The bands come with workouts they can do at home, so they can stay healthy from home,”
