When times get tough for Devin Wills he can always count on his perspective to pull him through. He has a knack for finding ways to remain optimistic, even in the worst of times.
“You can find opportunities even in the chaos. If you train your mind to seek them, you will get good at finding them.”
Wills has had his fair share of rough patches in life, but he knows that they will pass as they always do. “You could be having the worst day ever or dreading a situation that has yet to happen. That’s normal, but when you realize that everything will be okay, that you will get through it and probably become better because of the obstacles in your life, then you have less fear of the unknown. You accept that things can and will get stressful and you know you will be stronger because of those challenges.”
Throughout his long journey to leading one of the biggest contracting companies in Georgia, he had his share of rough patches. His biggest being the loss of his father and his years of addictions. This destroyed years of his life that could have been spent elsewhere and destroyed him mentally more than he would have ever known at the time. On the flip-side, he shares that his biggest success was in fact overcoming these huge challenges that he had faced at such a young age. With a little help, he was able to set his mind down the road of sobriety leading to him now being sober for over a year and a half. It’s hard to get sober once living that lifestyle for so long, but Wills came out stronger than ever before and proved to the world that he does have what it takes to run his businesses to new heights.
Wills sets out in hopes to encourage everyone to follow their dreams as he did at a young age. He encourages you to keep a positive mindset through thick and thin in order to persevere. Stay organized to have the best results. You can do this by planning out your day to day activities to ensure that you get everything done without missing a beat. Don’t forget to accept advice from others and to keep your mind open. We can’t master every skill set out there, and that’s where you will be able to greatly benefit from the ideas and help from others. Don’t let your ego and “I don’t need help” attitude get in the way of your future successes.
His first priority with everything he does is making sure that everyone is happy and that operations are running smoothly and second for him is the pay. If people aren’t happy and things aren’t running smoothly you will lose money in the long run. Spend the time and money now to encourage healthy long-lasting growth for you and your business.
He has since started his life-long dream of getting involved in the world of Real Estate. He is currently reading up on the subject and started investing in Single-family homes and large scale apartment complexes. He started gaining his interest in this subject at a young age when he used to build tall structures with his Lego’s. He knew that he would one day take advantage of an opportunity in that business and when the time came he stuck to it. He plans on continuing on with his Real Estate plan, as well as also continue to manage A&W Contracting, Inc for his father.
