For many people living on the streets, poverty, joblessness, and lack of affordable housing are the key culprits for their deprivation. Personal vulnerabilities like mental and substance use disorders can exacerbate these risk factors while adversely affecting people’s well-being. The increasing uptick in homelessness is a constant reminder that housing scarcity can become a bigger societal problem. Preventing homelessness is more cost-effective than addressing issues after someone is already homeless. The longer a person is homeless, the more challenging and expensive it becomes to re-house them. Homelessness was already a mounting concern even before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world. The economic devastation brought by the pandemic only worsened the already challenging situation. On the bright side, the push to build back better from the pandemic has brought homelessness under a more comprehensive telescope.
Many philanthropists have stepped in and are contributing on their part to bring a positive change in the world to make it a better place. Dame Munni, the voice for global peace, has spent most of her life making others’ lives happier and more peaceful. She heads several initiatives to lend a helping hand to those going through challenging times. Bringing peace and prosperity to her community and worldwide is her mission, and she has devoted her life to this cause.
To this day, Munni has founded and self-funded several organizations. One of those organizations is Wisdomland International, the first self-sustainable shelter running on a check and balance system. Munni founded Wisdomland International to eliminate hunger, provide shelter, and train unfortunate women, children, men, and animals. In addition, it also creates jobs, tourism, and healing.
She embarked on the journey to build sustainable housing for the homeless in 1984. The majority of the tents in Los Angeles are part of her initiative. Being a survivor of domestic abuse, Munni understands the importance of restoring confidence through coaching. Munni has been active on LA Skid Row since the 1980s, where she and her family go monthly to offer food to the homeless and provide them with hygiene kits. In her quest to provide an enhanced lifestyle to the homeless, she envisioned building a parker structure with free bathrooms and showers so they could bathe themselves properly.
Munni created the infrastructure to guide people to live extraordinary lives. Even though all she has done so far has helped garner worldwide attention, she still plans to build a five-star self-sustaining shelter. As a global peace leader, Munni also created Art4Peace to bring social change through the arts. Art4Peace is a potent seed of global change. She is passionate about promoting and uniting peace artists from all over the world through Art4Peace Awards. This landmark foundation of Munni is a platform to recognize art as the epitome of peace and positive social change.
The fortunes that fuel philanthropy come from Dame Munni. She does not rely on individuals or organizations to donate to her endeavors. Instead, she uses her own wealth to fulfill her ambitions to help those in need. Her funds primarily support her Art4Peace initiative, which is expected to stretch its wings to Africa, India, the US, and Israel. Additionally, she works with country leaders to create jobs.
Homelessness can be a harrowing experience one may go through, which drives Dame Munni. Her unyielding efforts to eradicate homelessness have earned her the title of Queen of Beverly Hills. The philanthropic journey spanning four decades has made her a global figure in multiple fields. Through her Wisdomland project, she looks forward to installing a “Think Positive” world program in her Wisdomlands all around the world.
All of her projects are geared towards her global healing peace initiative, and there are many things she has and is working on currently. Her Wisdomland International is the world’s first self-sustainable shelter that generates its own revenue without relying significantly on external support and donations. With this new concept, she desired to shelter and sustain men, women, children, and even animals. She even made global history at Utah Valley University when she planted the first Global Peace Tree in the USA.
In a nutshell, for someone to have gone through twelve years of abuse at the hand of her husband, Dame Munni sets a good example for people. She takes abuse as a motivation to do what she does today through her world-level organization Wisdomland International.
