The young fashion entrepreneur has also earned recognition as a passionate author and Kemetic yoga teacher.
The closer we look around ourselves, the more we realize how different industries of the world have developed and have been on a growth spree. Even amidst the trying times, some industries have been continuously growing and rising to the top. Ever wondered the reasons behind this constant rise? Well, experts say that technological advances are one reason, but the incessant hard work and resilience that certain young minds work with have made all the difference, even amidst competitive industries. The fashion space is one, which has always radiated brilliance by welcoming different designers and fashionpreneurs. We couldn’t help but notice the swift rise of one such young fashion mind named Barry Kibwika, aka Harnun.
Wondering who is Barry Kibwika, aka Harnun? This passionate man was born in Africa in 1989. At a very early age, Harnun felt a certain level of affinity towards the world of fashion as he was able to witness the beauty of the current cultural trends and their connection with their ancestral origins through the Nile Valley Civilizations. His life began in Kampala, Uganda, and he was raised at the source of the Nile. Harnun reveals that he was inspired to transform all the knowledge that he acquired over the years and reclaim the cultural essence through the way people dress.
Speaking more about his inspiration in creating his fashion lines “Sabaa” and “The 47th Dynasty”, where he serves as the Chief director and founder, Harnun says that the main inspiration channels the African way of life. He always had the vision to give homage to what people had once forgotten with a modern twist. Most of the designs at his fashion lines begin with a simple idea and a rough sketch, which is nothing too fancy but simple yet classic and noble.
Harnun has been in the industry for the past 15 years, which shows the kind of designs he has curated and the level of success he has gained with his brands. Apart from being a businessman, he is also an author and recently released his book, “Return back to self love”, and is also a Kemetic yoga teacher with his brand “Sakhem Yoga”.
