Armor Correctional Health Services, also known as Armor Health, is forming crucial new partnerships with two crucial Franklin County, Ohio, organizations. The organization recently joined forces with the DeKalb County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office, HealthyMD, and the Ohio Department of Health’s Ryan White Part B program.
The South Florida-based operation will now partner with Ohio’s Franklin County Board of Commissioners and the Office of Justice Policy and Programs. These two crucial new partnerships will allow the multi-state correctional healthcare organization to participate as a part of the Franklin County Jail Population Review Core Planning Committee.
Franklin County Jail Population Review Core Planning Committee
Armor Health’s latest partnership with the Franklin County Board of Commissioners and the Franklin County Office of Justice Policy and Programs is for participation in the region’s Jail Population Review Core Planning Committee.
The Franklin County Jail Population Review Core Planning Committee aims to establish a dedicated team focused on reviewing and assessing key drivers of jail populations in central Ohio.
The committee, alongside Armor Correctional Health Services, will use real-time data to determine effective strategies for reducing current jail populations in and around Columbus and elsewhere across the Buckeye State.
Among the initiative’s primary goals is improving outcomes for individuals impacted by the justice system while addressing disparities like gender and race. It also seeks to lower the costs associated with longer stays by reducing average stay lengths via a focus on mental health and co-occurring disorders, aided again by Armor Correctional Health Services.
Franklin County Board of Commissioners
The Franklin County Board of Commissioners supports and uplifts all Franklin County, Ohio, residents. It does so through a focused lens of human-centered care and respect. The Columbus, Ohio-headquartered Office of Justice Policy and Programs is the Metropolitan County Criminal Justice Services Agency for Franklin County. The office is overseen and directed by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners and the Franklin County Criminal Justice Planning Board.
The Office of Justice Policy and Programs is responsible for all Franklin County initiatives surrounding Justice Grants, reentry planning, program recommendations, domestic violence prevention and services, and national Stepping Up and Data-Driven Justice involvement. It also staffs the Franklin County Reentry Advisory Board.
