Tragedy, loss, heartbreak, and despair. Four words we don’t ever want to relate to, but unfortunately end up experiencing at some point in our lives. These pivotal moments can leave us feeling hopeless, confused, and oftentimes, lost.
Diana Perkovic, founder of Good Girl Mafia, is no stranger to this pain. In the timespan of only one year, Perkovic had a HUGE shift in her life. At the time, she was a talk show host, interviewing A-List celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey. This was something she had always dreamt of and envisioned for herself. Although she had worked extremely hard to get there and absolutely loved her job, she still found herself feeling unfulfilled with her current life. She felt like she wanted to do something more and change the message she put out into the world. One night, she had a conversation with her father. They had an amazing conversation about life that greatly impacted Perkovic, igniting even more, her desire for a new journey in her career-life. This conversation ended up being the last conversation she ever had with her father, as he sadly passed away the next day. Perkovic was left with sorrow and grief, as she lost someone so special to her. But, with the inspiring words her father left her with, she finally decided to quit her job, move cross country and pursue finding that missing factor in her life that she had been yearning for. During this major transition in her life, her marriage fell apart, ending in divorce, piling on even more heartache for Perkovic to process. With an insanely intense year, losing her father, going through a divorce, moving cross country and quitting what she thought was her dream career, she found herself suddenly feeling like she lost her entire identity. She was devastated but still processed her pain. She reached a point where she realized she was now a blank canvas and could make whatever she wanted out of her life.
Perkovic decided to take the time and put in some serious work reinventing herself, training her mind to be empowered, and taking the reins of her new solo journey. It was NOT easy, but over some time, she found joy and fulfillment in her soul once again. When she finally reached this prosperous point, she looked back and thought to herself how hard it was to reach this point because there was no expert to turn to in how to become authentically empowered….and this thought is what created her incredible company, Good Girl Mafia.
