Wouldn’t life become boring if there were hardly any challenges associated with it? Well, it is the difficulties to overcome that make life exciting. Isn’t it so? And in the business world, challenges become a common part of the equation.
According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, about 20% of small businesses don’t make it past a year. With survival rates like that, it is easy to understand why most of the people face the initial years of entrepreneurship with trepidation. At such trying times, however, there are only a few people who are determined not to give up. Instead, they take a step back, devote time to identify the pain-points and also re-think strategy.
Hamza Majdi is a young and passionate entrepreneur who refused to accept failure and used it as a stepping stone to move forward and climbed up the peak of success.
He says, “Success is not accidental. It happens because it was planned to happen.”
According to him, most of the common challenges faced by entrepreneurs were fixable, right from communicating with the right people, generating leads to balancing work and life. Instead of focusing on difficulties he mastered his basics and did not pay heed to minor things in life. Whether it was about failures or achievements, he learnt from what others were doing. He tried not to repeat the mistakes that others had done, while at the same time he emulated their success tactics.
He did not believe in short cuts and always focused on perseverance and long-term benefits.
The outcome: A journey that started with him leaving his homeland Montreal and attending a networking event in Dallas, Texas on his 18th birthday ended up with his rise as a prominent leader in the network marketing industry. Today he manages a team of over 40,000 distributors across the world.
Was this journey a smooth one? How did he beat the odds in life? What helped him to be successful at such a young age?
There is hardly any substitute for hard work
Sometimes one needs to get into the trenches and make it happen. In the beginning, Hamza knocked on the doors of opportunities, faced rejections and tried hard to make ends meet. However, he kept on pressing hard and attended seminars and mentorship programs and enhanced his skills and knowledge. He was hell bent on making it work, and in the end, hard work paid off!
Mentoring
A lion always fosters a cub and a great leader always nurtures a capable successor. Hamza’s remarkable achievement is that he was being able to help the newcomers to become top producers in the industry. He mentored them and helped them to strive forward successfully. “I realize that my job was not just to be a top producer but also be a tool for others to succeed,” says Hamza.
